It is located in an elevated position down a private lane a few miles from Foxford, surrounded by over an acre of woods & rough pasture, with ample parking.
The view from the patio across the Moy valley extends to the Partry Mountains about 50 miles away.

The cottage is roughly halfway between Ballina and Castlebar, the two main towns in Mayo, 150 miles West of Dublin. Several Ferries a day go from Liverpool & Holyhead to Dublin, and Pembroke to Rosslare. Although a car is essential for local travel, there is an unmanned station in Foxford, with 3 trains a day from Dublin. Coaches also go regularly from Foxford to Dublin, Galway and Sligo. Knock (Ireland West) international airport is just 30 minutes drive from the cottage.

Foxford itself is a small town with all local amenities including 2 Spar type supermarkets, 2 garages, Post Office, Internet Cafe, butchers, an excellent fresh fish shop and around 7 pubs including the MayFly, Foxford’s main hotel.  Many have live music and other events in the evening.

The Small Print
The cottage is surrounded by working hill farms with livestock in the fields, mostly beef cattle.  The ground is rough and the fences designed only to keep cattle in, not children out.  So it is not really suitable for very young children who do not yet understand the dangers of the countryside.

Please no smoking or dogs in the cottage.  If you have a dog, please again be aware of farm animals and keep it under control at all times.
